A local Archaeologist visited 3rd and 4th class on two occasions over the last few weeks to help the children prepare for their Innovation Project for the first Lego League.
She taught us all about the Turoe Stone and the ‘La Tene’ style art that it displays. She taught us about all the work archaeologists do and helped us to identify problems that they face daily through their work. We got to take a trip back to the past by using a saddle queen and a rotary quern. We leaned about and designed our own rath and explained about the ceremonies that could have taken place there.
