5th & 6th Class - Mr Dervan
Ms. Fallon collected tadpoles from a pond at the Astro Turf so we could see what they look like before turning into frogs. We were reminded that these are protected and can only be collected by teachers for observation before being returned to their habitat.
We have worked hard in groups to come up with viable products to sell for our Junior Entrepreneur Project. This week we met the Dragons who really grilled us on our ideas, market, and particularly costs and pricing of what we hope to sell. One product will be chosen which the whole class will then bring to market.
Some of the children enjoying a 'chill' day in the snow!
Our Girl's Soccer Team performed brilliantly in a recent FAI School's Soccer Tournament. They won 4 of their 5 matches and were very unlucky to lose 1:0 against eventual winners, Lough Cutra. Well done to Maia, Aoibheann, Erin, Jane, Dearbhail, Ruby and Hannah.
Stephen has begun working on Fundamental P.E. skills and Hurling skills with us every Tuesday.
Well done to all the girls who represented Cappataggle in Camogie and St. Gabriels in football. Here they are with their medal haul!
Happy Hallowe'en from all in 5th and 6th
We worked very hard in our recent Cycle Right Training sessions and our Trainers informed us we were the best school they had ever had! We had to listen very carefully and follow intricate instructions. We are now ready to cycle safely anywhere.

We used Pop Art as inspiration to make clay self-portraits. We took a picture of ourselves and added texture using cocktail sticks on a clay base. We then painted this. Our next plan is to make frames and mount these as a display.
Well done to our Boys and Girls Football Teams who represented the school brilliantly at the County Football Finals in Annaghdown recently.
Dear parents,
I would like to welcome all the children back - they have settled in brilliantly and are ready for a great year in fifth and sixth.
We will have swimming on Tuesdays for eight weeks of this term and Band on Wednesdays, beginning September 14th. Some children will be running Cross Country in Galway next Tuesday 20th.
If your child attends Ms. Gilmartin her email is ogilmartincappyns@gmail.com
Many thanks,
Shane
