The children really enjoyed learning how to knit. We made a beautiful heart from all our patch work pieces and also cute Easter egg holders. Thank you Helena for all your help with this project.
Congratulations to Isabella who won an art competition with Loughrea Hockey Club.
A member of the international women's team will be calling to our school to give the class a hockey lesson.

Pancake Tuesday - Helena along with 5th and 6th class organised our delicious pancakes..............mmmmmmm !!!!!!
Fabric and Fibre Workshop with Geraldine from Heritage in Schools. Geraldine showed us how to use a spinning wheel, explained the development of spinning , sheering of sheep and making clothes. Everyone got to weave and make their own wrist bands.

Science Week
We had a talk with John about barn owls. We got to see a real owl. We looked at pond water and sand under a microscope. We learned how to take fingerprints. We watched science shows about giraffes and mini creatures with Marty Jopson.

Welcome Back
It is great to see all the smiling faces back at school again and everyone is settling in very well.
Third class will be making their First Holy Communion on the 18th of September I hope everyone has a very enjoyable day.
Our swimming lessons will be starting on Tuesday 14th September, a note will be sent home in the the next few days with all the details.
We will have hurling every Friday with Liam Gordon and Band on Wednesday with Yvonne.
Homework will not start until October.
