Space Week 2018 (4th to 10th October)
We completed some mini projects using school laptops and our headphones. We investigated; The sun, Mars, life cycle of a star and gravity in groups. We presented our findings to the class! We loved investigating and presenting
Art expansion
During Visual Arts, we were divided into groups and received a small magazine cut out to expand using our imagination. We used A2 sheets and planned where we would place the cut out and discussed what the rest of the image should look like! Didn't we do a great job!
Music time
Every second Friday, we bring in our instruments and play them. We have seen a medallion, concertina, accordion, keyboard, tin whistles, flute and banjo so far and the promise of a violin and other instruments to come. We are super talented and if you take our instruments away, we can sing too!
Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween to everybody from the boys and girls of 3rd and 4th class. We had a brilliant day on Thursday, before our well deserved break. We dressed up to scare the teachers and staff in Cappataggle NS and we ruled the school for the day! Everybody put in a fantastic effort. There were 26 contenders out of 26 for the prize for best dressed in our class but the winner was a well deserving Marty Morrissey.
Have a spooktacular Halloween!

What was school like in the past?
Our class were lucky enough to meet Annie Broderick and Mary Lawlor who told us what school was like when they were attending. We found out that it was very different to our school. They started at 9.30 and finished at 3pm.
They walked to school every day, no matter what the weather was like. There was a big stone along the way and if there was not a small stone left on it, the children from that boithrín hadn't passed yet but if the children had left a small stone on it, they would run to try and catch up with them.
There was a lot of emphasis on Gaeilge, Religion and their writing in their classrooms.
We saw some old copybooks, 'sums' copies, books, tuning fork and many artifacts.
A sincere word of thanks to Annie and Mary for coming to tell us their interesting stories and thanks to Bridie Pender who organised for the two ladies and unfortunately couldn't attend today.
