Science Week Nov. 2015

For science week we did an experiment to see the effect of coke on your teeth. I kindly recieved a donation of a milk tooth which we placed into coke for the weekend. See the horrifying result for yourself on the tooth on the right. Please don't drink coke!!!!!

Our Golden Mile Historic Walk

A huge thank you to all on the Golden Mile Committee who took 3rd and 4th class on the walk and educated us all on the area. We had a great time and were thrilled with the surprise picnic afterwards. A huge effort went into it and it is very much appreciated.  Ms. Kerrigan

Our Class Experiment: What do seeds need to grow?

We checked our cress a week later on the 8th of October and look what we discovered.........                    Ms. Kerrigan
Lots of happy faces and lots of growth with the lucky tray.               A small bit of growth with the pots that had no heat.
Picture
The pots that had no light looked very yellow and scraggly.

No water resulted in no growth :(

Look at that growth in the tray which was watered and left at the window. We even discovered PHOTOTROPISM.

Our Class Experiment: What do seeds need to grow?

On Thursday, the 1st of October we planted some cress seeds in various pots. We put some pots in the dark, some pots in a cold area and we didn't water the seeds in other pots. The tray of pots were the lucky ones who got everything. A nice, moist, warm environment on the window sill with plenty of light. Stay tuned to see what happens!!!!    Ms. Kerrigan

EU Code Week 10-18th October.

This week the children got back to grips with computer coding for EU Code Week. We had some new children to coding who were just super. Make sure to keep it up. Well done to all the others who were great at helping out and sharing ideas. Here are a few photos.
