1st & 2nd Class - Ms Burke

Computer time...

We are learning how to make our very own Powerpoint presentations on the computers. First we create a title slide. We chose a font type and size. We chose a background theme and colour. It is important to save our work as we go! Next we add more slides. We insert text and pictures. Finally we present our presentations to the rest of the class.

Sheep Shearing

In SESE we learned about sheep and wool. Sheep grow thick fur called wool that grows continuously like your hair does. Some breeds (kinds) of sheep have better wool for making into fabric or knitting yarn.
Wool is cut once a year. This is called shearing, and people who do it are called shearers.   All shearing used to be done by hand with clippers, but now there are electric shears used when large numbers of sheep are sheared.

One of our Grandad's has a really old hand clippers. We got to see it up close in school today.

We had fun learning how to make Crispy Buns!
